# Jjangga Haemul Nara in Suyeong: tasty pomfret and chive pancake

> An old-style place in Suyeong, visited with a friend in pomfret season. The sashimi comes bone-in, and the owner kept bringing free dishes.

Pomfret season had come, so at about 7:40 on a Saturday evening a friend and I went to Jjangga Haemul Nara. It has the feel of an old restaurant. It specializes in pomfret and does not seem to sell other sashimi.

The sashimi comes sliced bone-in, known as sekkoshi. I would not suggest it to anyone who does not like that.

The chive pancake with hot chili that we added was tasty too.

While we ate, the owner kept bringing free dishes. I do not know whether that was because closing time was near. The first was a sea snail, though I could not tell which kind.

Boiled pork came next, and fruit in between.

The prices are cheap and the owner is very kind, so I do suggest going. It seems to sell gizzard shad from late summer into autumn, and sometimes it has horaegi, a small squid I like.

We meant to go somewhere else for a second round, but the food kept coming, so we kept ordering drinks and stayed.
