# Dongbaek Hoetjip in Ilgwang: let down by an 80,000-won platter

> A sashimi restaurant in Ilgwang I tried after an Instagram post. Every room has a sea view, but the amount and taste did not match the price for me.

At about 2 on a Saturday afternoon, after seeing a celebrity's Instagram post, a friend and I went to Dongbaek Hoetjip. It feels like a family home turned into a restaurant, and every room has a sea view.

The prices were fairly high, perhaps because the fish is wild-caught. The two of us ordered the small mixed sashimi for 80,000 won.

I was very disappointed with the amount and the taste. My palate may just differ from a celebrity's. For the same 80,000 won, I think [Kalmat Hoetjip near Pusan National University](/en/blog/jangjeon-kalmat-hoetjip-20260717/) gives you more, better fish for less. Rock bream or conger eel would probably have been tasty here, but there are many sashimi restaurants to choose from for that money.

I am from Busan, so a sea view does not matter much to me. Cheap and tasty is enough.

After the soup, we were given boiled potatoes at the end. They are boiled the old way with a sweetener, so they were very sweet. From here, we went to [Cafe 824](/en/blog/gijang-cafe-824-20260530/) for dessert.
